RoadTrip Diary - Day 1 - Las Vegas

Tried to finish all the work yesterday night and today morning.. Just wanted to leave for the roadtrip on the happy note.. Took a while to leave from office ~1:30pm

Lunch and rental car pick up marked 4pm in clock.. Last minute packing, my car parking in QC and public library book-dropoffs ate up couple of hours.. by the time we hit the road I-15, it was already 5:30pm..

Most of the drive was in the dark.. atleast I was happy to get out of office and hit the road... Rental car from hertz, 2009 Impala is indeed powerful and brand new with only 8434 miles.. We didn't face any traffic on the way.. First 100 miles marker for the roadtrip was near I-15 & I-10 intersection after Riverside..

Montecarlo in Vegas was awaiting for us.. Because of normal weekday, as well as its still couple of days for Christmas, so rooms were easily available and pretty cheap... It took us 11pm to hit the strip.. Not much crowd on the strip.. Had nice dinner at PF Changs in Planet Hollywood Casino.. Cinnamon ginger tea was refreshing.. Sitaram opened the night on slot machine.. Paris also consumed few bucks on blackjack and poker..

We were too tired to keep ourselves up whole night.. We didn't do much in vegas.. infact that wasn't the objective either.. Initially vegas wasn't in our plan at all.. it was just on our way to Zion..so instead of staying somewhere before Zion, night in Vegas is a good start.. Also, according to our plan, Dec 23rd wasn't added before..We were supposed to start the roadtrip tomorrow afternoon and be in Vegas tomorrow night.. but I am able squeeze one day from work.. additional day for the roadtrip.. hopefully this will help later somewhere..

Night ended around 3am.. Though tired, slept with lot of excitement for next day..
